What makes Pilates exercise different from other exercises?

The exercises may be the same or similar to ones you have done in other Pilates classes.  The difference is the focus on how the exercise is done which might even change how it feels to you.  The principles of Pilates are breath, concentration, control, centering, precision and flow. They are used during treatment to help build new movement options or to engage muscles differently from what you typically do.

What equipment
do you use?

Exercises are done on specialized equipment like the reformer or Pilates Stabliity chair.  These are spring resistance machines that take you through particular movements selected for your treatment program.  Small props like the arc barrel, small balls, resistance bands or hand weights are used to create different challenges in the exercises.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Yes, since Marlene is a registered physiotherapist, sessions may be eligible for insurance coverage. However, it is recommended to check with your insurance provider to confirm the specifics of your policy and coverage.
