Treatments
Pilates is a highly effective, low-impact method for treating common physical ailments, particularly chronic back pain, poor posture, and joint stiffness. By blending strength training with dynamic stretching, it elongates tight muscles and restores joint mobility, not only treating current discomfort but also preventing future injuries.
Back Pain
With increased sitting at our jobs and greater use of technology back pain has become commonplace. It is compounded with less time for exercise and can lead to recurrent or chronic back pain. Physio Pilates strengthens the core muscles creating a natural corset that helps to support your back. The exercises performed during treatment work to settle your back as you awaken the small, stabilizing muscles. The progression of exercises allow your body to create length where it is needed to relieve compression and increase strength to support your back. Pilates Physio increases your awareness of proper postural alignment and healthy body mechanics carrying your learning into your every day tasks.
Shoulder Pain
Pain at the front of your shoulder when reaching overhead, while sleeping on that side or restricted movement and weakness are all symptoms of a rotator cuff injury. Through Physio Pilates you can begin to stabilize and strengthen your shoulder. As you learn to effectively use your muscles to stabilize your scapula and shoulder joint you will feel less pain and greater ease with movement allowing for progressive strengthening. The improved alignment will reduce stress on the shoulder joint and rotator cuff to help you return to the activities you love.
Lateral Hip Pain
Lateral hip pain is characterized by a dull ache or sharp pain on the outer hip that worsens when walking, climbing stairs, or lying on that side. Physio Pilates exercises focus on controlled movement, strengthening the gluteal stabilizers and pelvic core while correcting pelvic alignment. This targeted treatment reduces painful compression on the lateral hip tendons and bursa, restoring pain-free movement and improving overall functional mobility
